Visit to Shrine of the Queen of Peace, Medjugorje Our Lady of Medjugorje - Painted by a young boy from a poor village near Medjugorje Our New Zealand Group
Monday 19 June Rome. What better way to begin our group pilgrimage than with a visit to the eternal city! Not for us a busy, noisy hotel. We had the luxury of staying at a quiet convent close to a medieval church and within easy walking distance to Saint Peter’s Basilica. Food, service and accommodation at the convent were first class, with access to the convent’s beautiful chapel an added bonus. Saint Peter's Basilica located in Vatican City, across the River Tiber, west of Rome's centre. Vatican State is completely surrounded by the city of Rome.
Tuesday 20 June
San Giovanni in Laterano (St John at the Lateran) The Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano — is the cathedral church of Rome and the official ecclesiastical seat of the Pope. It is the oldest and ranks first (being the only cathedral in Rome) among the four major basilicas of Rome, and holds the title of ecumenical mother church among Roman Catholics.
